Minimal, subtle and evocative, this work finds connections between a host of characters, perhaps each soul is lost in a reverie of dreaming, perhaps their directionless journey needs this connection to bring them together. And whilst the title brings to mind a mournful state, the figures’ expressions offer us a much more peaceful state - emphasising the transitory nature of the title. Painted with oil paint on a deep 3.5cm stretched canvas - the painting wraps around the sides of the canvas allowing the painting to be hung directly without framing.
