"Together, in the dawning of our story, we do not understand nor fear what we will, but find faith and comfort in our imagined protectors and pass, down, to our children, knowledge - like this flickering life - which keeps the darkness at bay" *********** Adrianna was inspired to create this work after seeing Wener Herzog's "Cave of Forgotten Dreams". The work conjures those who huddled together in a cave at Chauvet in France between 30,000 and 35,000 years ago, and who documented their experiences with such detail and beauty that it transcends those intervening millennia, a space of time really quite inconceivable when compared to our own short lives on this earth. Painted with oil paint on a deep 3.5cm stretched canvas - the painting wraps around the sides of the canvas allowing the painting to be hung directly without framing. The poem for this painting was written by the artist's husband, Alex.
