A motif that occurs with relative frequency in the artist’s works is that whereby a scene is presented which gives the sense of us looking at a stage, an entire act of a play being performed in front of us within a single static moment. This work seems to foretell her later piece “Amongst The Clouds”, and lays out a rich organic world, replete with characters interacting with and influencing the eddies and currents of life that flow between them. Painted with oil paint on a deep 3.5cm stretched canvas - the painting wraps around the sides of the canvas allowing the painting to be hung directly without framing.
