This large square oil painting, finished as autumn drew to a close and winter took its grip. The tonal palette is clearly influenced by the season, and whilst at first appearing to be an abstract amalgam of shape and tone, could be seen to resolve itself into the recently bared branches of two trees. If we look closer though, we can find a figure, or perhaps figures, whirling in joyous dance. Limbs, bare, faunal or arboreal, intertwine, collide and converge. Painted with oil paint on a deep 3.5cm stretched canvas - the painting wraps around the sides of the canvas allowing the painting to be hung directly without framing.
