A unique study of migrating birds, this sculpture stands 43cm tall and wide, and 47cm deep, and is constructed out of a combination of metal, wire mesh, and modelling clay; and is finished with an intricate overlay of fine metal leaf, each fragment of which the artist selected and placed according to its colour and the effect of its oxidisation.

Painted across three canvasses with one 50x70cm canvas in the centre, and two 30x70cm canvasses at the sides, this vivid abstract work reminds us of the artist's earlier work "Formic Syntax", with a playful sense of movement and vitality. Each of the three canvasses are painted with oil paint on 3.5cm stretched canvasses - the painting wraps around the sides of the canvasses allowing the triptych to be hung directly without framing.

A beautiful work, and one that shows a tonally different side to the artist. This work was quickly sold to a private collection in Sicily after its first public showing. Painted with oil paint on a deep 3.5cm stretched canvas - the painting wraps around the sides of the canvas allowing the painting to be hung directly without framing.
