A love letter to a special location, this abstract work came from the artist's week long visit to the Black River Valley in Sweden, as part of the Listen to Nature workshop. A week of early dawn walks, enchanting views replete with migrating birds, and all on the edge of winter and spring - something which feels strongly represented in the colour tones used in this work, whilst also echoing the playfulness of flight, and the varied landscape and early light tinging the sky with pinks and gold. Painted with oil paint on a deep 3.5cm stretched canvas - the painting wraps around the sides of the canvas allowing the painting to be hung directly without framing.
